Chris Curtis does not agree with the fighting order of UFC 287.
The UFC will travel to Miami, Florida on April 8, 2023, and will continue a series of high-profile pay-per-view (PPV) events for the promotion. Unfortunately for the “doer” Curtis, he was relegated to the final preliminary fight directly behind UFC upstart 18-year-old Raul Rosas Jr..
Curtis isn’t too happy with the promotion’s decision and he took to Twitter today (Thursday, Feb. 23, 2023) to vent his frustrations.
“I’m not going to lie, this combat order is completely fucked up”, Curtis tweeted. “One of the best cards of the year and I get kicked off the main card for a kid? I fought on short notice. I played anybody and went 4-1 to get seeded and I got fired for a kid with a fight? Yeah, I’m salty as f—k.
Standing in the way of Curtis on the night will be a longtime promotion veteran and The Ultimate Fighter 17 (TUF) winner, Kelvin Gastelum. A win for Curtis would get him back on a winning streak and certainly increase his chances of securing a main card spot on the next go-around.
As for Mexico’s Rosas (7-0), the Contender Series alum made his successful UFC debut in December 2022 at UFC 282, beating Jay Perrin via a first-round rear naked choke submission ( see highlights).
