Happy to see you again! It’s becoming an almost weekly thing now. Two combat sports veterans box tonight (Saturday, November 19, 2022) inside the Moody Center in Austin, Texas, streaming live via DAZN pay-per-view (PPV) with a 8 p.m. ET Start time. Former NFL professional defensive lineman and least favorite mixed martial arts (MMA) villain Greg Hardy will step in at short notice to face Hasim Rahman Jr. – descendant of the former heavyweight boxing champion same name – in the Misfits Boxing 003 main event.
‘Gold Blooded’ Rahman Jr. is looking to rebound from his first career loss, which dropped his record to 12-1. Hardy needs little introduction to familiar faces around these parts, but suffice to say it’s a big step up in experience, if not size for the 1-0 professional boxer whose MMA career s ended at 7-5 with 1 “No Contest.” Hardy is a late replacement for a more even-sized opponent, Vitor Belfort, who had to withdraw earlier this week after falling ill, supposedly with Covid according to reports.
The other “stars” on this card are all young and from the social media scene and hardly have a professional fight between them. That doesn’t stop them from stepping into the squared circle to get hit by their fellow neophytes, and we’ll be watching them too. The featured fight in the influencer scene is Nurideen “Deen the Great” Shabazz (1-0) taking on Walid “Sharks” Muhsein (0-0-1).

Hasim Rahman Jr. vs. Greg Hardy play-by-play updates:
Super Heavyweight: Hasim Rahman Jr. vs. Greg Hardy
Round 1: It’s not the main event, it turns out, but it’s in our hearts. Rahman in a purple jersey and representing the Baltimore Ravens (his hometown, not a former NFL defensive end troll, one would assume). Robust in black. Fast forward to the left of Rahman. Body shot too. Rahman trades a bit, but he’s a lot faster than Hardy and wasn’t caught by the much taller man. Hardy left-right. Left counter lands for Rahman. BIG left for Rahman and Hardy is unsteady on his feet. Rahman doesn’t follow up, however. Hardy is finally able to put the smaller man against the ropes and throws some big punches at him. Rahman’s sweet left counter lands clean.
Round 2: Quick left hand landing for Rahman. Hardy leaps forward with a right. Hardy lands a straight cross and he has Rahman against the ropes. Rahman loses his mouthpiece and he no longer moves his feet. Hardy plays on him and lands a lot of punches. Rahman is not going to fall and maybe he should. Big punches land for the big man. Finally, Rahman frees himself and the referee interrupts the action to return Rahman to his mouthpiece. Rahman doesn’t look clean yet. He’s a little better than a minute ago. There is a left, but it has a lot of leather. Quick counter to the right and Rahman is down! He is standing and does not have light eyes. Hardy backs him up on the ropes and he swings. Rahman with a clean left that knocks Hardy down.
Round 3: Rahman’s feet are under him, but the speed isn’t there. Hardy’s big uppercut stumbles Rahman. It should have been a knockdown as he was about to fall had it not been for the ropes. Rahman with a few lefts, but every time Hardy lands that big 94-pound difference makes itself known. Hardy left-right. Rahman lands a few quick lefts.
Round 4: Rahman sits on his punches a bit more, but that allows Hardy to counter well. Rahman with a good hook. Hardy returns a counter right. Another… and a third! Rahman no longer presses the action much. There is a right hand from Rahman. There’s still a good one before the bell, but it won’t matter.
FINAL RESULT: Greg Hardy defeats. Hasim Rahman Jr. via unanimous decision
130 pounds: Nurideen Shabazz vs. Walid Muhsein
Round 1: Walid in black, Deen in blue. Walid comes out hot and returns to the left. Nice right hand from Deen. “Sharks” Muhsein beats Shabazz to the punch with a hook that knocks him back. They trade rights. Ref doesn’t like whiplash from Deen and warns her. Walid with a nice straight right hand and Deen’s gloves hit the canvas… but it’s not a knockdown? What happened, ref?
Round 2: Right hands from both men. Deen hasn’t been able to find his timing so far and between punching and clutching every few seconds, Muhsein just lands a bit cleaner. A huge right-left-right smashes Deen to the canvas! He’s doing the count, but doesn’t look good for him right now. He has recovered a little and fights back. No, eats another right hand behind the ear and is on your knees again.
Round 3: Nice power-punch combo from “Sharks” that again finds Shabazz’s chin. Deen with a left hand. They rush into the pocket and it ends with Walid landing a flush on the left. A HUGE PRONONTIC RIGHT CRUSHES MUHSEIN! He is on the ground and has trouble getting up. He is standing, but he turns around and leans against the ropes facing the crowd. He’s finished and the referee stops him! What a comeback after being knocked down three times in two rounds.
END RESULT: Nurideen “Deen the Great” Shabazz wins. Walid “Sharks” Muhsein by KO
