Houston janitor accused of transmitting STDs to multiple women via office building water bottles

adminJanuary 29, 2023

HOUSTON (KIAH) — A group of women in Houston have filed a joint lawsuit after alleging they contracted a sexually transmitted disease from a janitor accused of urinating into multiple water bottles in their office building.

Thirteen women, who will be represented by Houston law firm Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Agosto, Aziz & Stogner, as well as Samantha Spencer of Spurlock & Associates, PC, have filed a lawsuit against multiple companies, alleging that they “allowed and disregarded the concierge”. conduct.”

‘Relevant’ strain of gonorrhea detected in Massachusetts, officials say

The lawsuit was originally filed by four women who worked at an east Houston office building where Lucio Diaz worked as a janitor. He was charged in November 2022 with urinating into a water bottle in a woman’s office when he was diagnosed with herpes simplex 1 (HSV-1).

According to the suit, the women said that in late August they noticed a foul taste and odor in the bottled water in their apartment building, similar to urine. A woman then placed a hidden camera in her office.

The hidden camera allegedly showed Diaz putting down his cleaning gear and rubbing his penis inside and at the mouth of a water bottle left on a desk. He then put the bottle back and resumed cleaning the room, the attorneys said.

The next day, the woman sent the hidden video to the building’s management company and said she would let other tenants know what was going on. According to the lawsuit, the company told him not to do this and assured him that the situation would be managed and that it would notify the tenants.

But no notification was given, and the woman then captured Diaz performing the same act later that evening, according to the lawsuit.

It wasn’t until October that the company informed the other tenants of Diaz’s alleged actions, the lawsuit said.

The defendants in the lawsuit are the owner of the building, the building management company, the maintenance company and the cleaning company that employed the accused janitor.

On October 13, Diaz was charged by the Harris County District Attorney’s Office with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He is currently being held by immigration officials.
