Ethan Nation, a cornerback from Rosewell (Ga.) in 2023, is committed to Nebraska. Nation’s decision gives the Huskers another pledge of a rookie with an absolutely loaded offer sheet.
Nation, a three-star prospect, holds about 50 offers, including from Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon and USC.
His list of offers also includes Auburn, Colorado, Florida, LSU, Miami, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Utah and Wisconsin.

He ultimately chose Nebraska over Auburn, Houston and Ohio State — the other three programs in his last four — because he sees a growing program that’s headed in the right direction.
“I love how they’re getting on the card with their new coaching staff,” Nation told Rivals’ Ryan Wright. “They’ll have a lot of buzz about them because they’re a college-level professional going staff. It’ll be exciting to see how that plays out.
Nation said his decision was “really easy” when he compared it all.
“They flew me out, they showed me they needed me and they wanted me, and it was pretty simple for me,” Nation said. “They showed me that they weren’t going to BS me. If I go in there and work hard, it’s going to explode.
Nation is the fourth defensive commitment in the Huskers’ 2023 class. He joins CB Syncere Safeeullah and Dwight Bootle II and Philadelphia safety Rahmir Stewart, who held an equally impressive offer sheet as Nation with offers from Alabama, Clemson and Georgia among more than 30 offers.
The 5-foot-11, 165-pound nation is ranked in the top 70 among Georgia prospects in 2023 and in the top 75 nationally among cornerbacks.
Nation’s recruiting was seen by some as a bit of a wild card throughout the process in terms of where it would end up landing. No school had emerged in a major way from the pack in recent months. This opened the door to the secondary coach Evan Cooperthe head coach Matt Rhule and the Huskers.

Nebraska proposed Nation on Dec. 16, and he immediately scheduled an official visit for the weekend of Dec. 16-18. Nation trains with Carolina Panthers cornerback Jaycee Horn, whom Cooper coached for the past two seasons as the Panthers’ cornerbacks coach.
That’s how Nation first got on the Huskers’ radar. He made the trip to Lincoln and relied on what had become an instant connection with Cooper and the Husker staff. These relationships were further strengthened just before the first signing period.
“I usually ask people who have been coached by them before,” Nation said. “With Coach Rhule being with the Panthers, I trained with guys who were with the Panthers. I picked their brains. I talked to JT (Ibe) about their training because Coach Rhule was with them and coach Cooper, and their strength coach (Corey Campbell) was also with the Panthers. I was just picking the brains of the pro guys to see how they deciphered it from pro level to college.
