Welcome to Midnight Mania!
The UFC got into the Brother Paul case. It’s not in the way some might have predicted though, as neither Jake nor Logan Paul will be stepping into the UFC octagon to compete anytime soon. Instead, Logan Paul and the UFC announced PRIME as the official sports drink of the UFC, a deal that negates the traditionally named red and blue corners in favor of the “PRIME hydration recovery zone.”
What color band corresponds to this wordy designation, I wonder?
Anton Tabuena from Bloody Elbow asked Jake Paul for his thoughts on the deal, as well as whether or not fighters will see a percentage of this new revenue. Paul replied“Hey Anton…I’m always happy with my brother’s success, and even though I have no involvement in his drink, I hope the UFC will share the revenue he receives with the fighters.”
The UFC has yet to release financial information regarding the deal, but I would keep expectations low. Historically, UFC sponsorship deals don’t end up meaningfully trickling down, even after individual fighters’ sponsorship has been neutralized. Meanwhile, Paul remains set to box Tommy Fury on February 25, 2023 in Saudi Arabia. If Fury backs down again, he’ll find himself staring at “Platinum” Mike Perry, who is the designated official replacement for this storyline.
Insomnia
Fedor Emelianenko’s final step to the cage will be a star-studded event, as it should be!
Rodtang and Mikey Musumeci is a dangerous combo!
Journey Newsom has a weird fighting style, but I trust Brian Kelleher to make it a fun piece nonetheless.
I feel like I’ve been hurt before by Derrick Lewis supposed to train harder/eat right/fix his back. It would be nice to see a renewed “Black Beast”!
Whether or not he can defeat Islam Makhachev, Alexander Volkanovski is a truly special athlete.
Arman Tsarukyan challenges Michael Chandler for sitting on his rankings, but nothing will be done.
Slips, tears and KO clips
Derrick Lewis has one of the heaviest groundstrokes EVER!
I would say that fighting against the referee is a better reaction than covering yourself with a ball. At least he still knew he was fighting!
Believe it or not, this is UFC Welterweight Bryan Battle getting fired back in his amateur days. No one would have known if they hadn’t mentioned it in the comments!
