NFL insider: Packers think Aaron Rodgers will be back in 2023 originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago
THE The Aaron Rodgers Saga keep on going. But this time around, there may be some clarity about the future.
ESPN’s Jeff Darlington took to GetUp on Wednesday and shared that he had a conversation “with a very important Green Bay Packers source,” and that source strongly believes Rodgers will return to the NFC North in 2023.
Darlington went on to add that the source thinks Rodgers’ speculation about AFC teams, such as the New York Jets and Las Vegas Raiders, “is overstated.”
“[Green Bay] look at the contract Aaron Rodgers signed last year, the commitment he gave to the team, and think that at the end of the day Aaron Rodgers will be back with the Packers,” added Darlington.
The 39-year-old Green Bay Packers caller embarked on a four day retreat in darknessa holistic adventure which Rodgers hopes will give him answers about his footballing future under centre.
In the meantime, speculation over Rodgers’ future continues. The four-time NFL MVP has been linked to the Jets, who would be still waiting for a response on what the longtime Packers star has planned before deciding which direction they’ll take this offseason.
But Darlington thinks the Jets should start looking to pivot to Derek Carrwho is their other favorite quarterback.
As Green Bay’s offseason plan continues to hang in the balance with Rodgers’ upcoming decision, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero said the team is ready to have him “as long as he’s fully convinced” .
But now all that remains is to wait. And I hope that when Rodgers comes back there will be light at the end of the tunnel.
