Dana White and Oscar De La Hoya will never agree.
Somewhere on the road to the rise of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), the promotion’s president and boxing legend-turned-promoter launched a raging war of words in the early days of 2023.
White never hesitated to shoot De La Hoya for any possible reason provided to him, repeatedly pointing out alleged cocaine issues. ‘The Golden Boy’ received its own ammunition this week (Monday, Jan. 2, 2023), however, when video surfaced of the UFC boss slapping his wife, Anne White, while at a nightclub. from Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. during their New Year’s vacation.
“My good friend @danawhite is so greedy he decided to steal his new league fighters pay on TBS ‘Power Slap’ by getting the fighter of the night against his WIFE,” De La Hoya tweeted. “These Boston aerobics instructors are real badass.”
Along with the release of the problematic video was an interview with White, who admitted his actions and apologized. No ramifications followed for the top mixed martial arts (MMA) organization or its president, but Endeavor shares fell significantly after the news.
As for De La Hoya, he’s been enjoying the start of his new year on the beach and looking in great shape for 49 years. De La Hoya looks so good physically that commenters on his recent Instagram posts are wondering whether or not he has abdominal implants.
Golden Boy Promotions does not currently have any boxing events on deck for 2023. Granted, some news and announcements can be anticipated as January progresses.
