India woke up on Friday to the shocking news of Rishabh Pant’s horrific car accident. The wicket-striker had a miraculous escape when his luxury car crashed into a road divider and burst into flames after dozing off while driving on the Delhi-Dehradun highway in the early hours of Friday. The 25-year-old, who was traveling to his hometown of Roorkee to surprise his mother, suffered head, back and foot injuries but is in stable condition following the Manglaur accident in the district from Haridwar in Uttarakhand around 5:30 a.m., the police told me. Pant is currently admitted to a hospital in Dehradun.

According to an ESPNCricinfo report, Rishabh Pant’s brain and spinal cord MRI results came back as “normal”. He also underwent plastic surgery for facial injuries, lacerated wounds and abrasions. Pant will have an MRI in his ankle and knee on Saturday as there was pain and swelling on Friday.

The report adds that doctors at Max Hospital in Dehradun, where Pant is admitted, gave him “a brace above the knee… for suspected right knee ligament injury and suspected right ankle ligament injury. “. The latest medical bulletin from the hospital indicates that Pant is “stable, aware and oriented”.

The Board of Cricket Control of India (BCCI) has provided an update on the 25-year-old cricketer’s condition. The pants have two cuts to the forehead and a ligament tear in the right knee but are currently stable, a statement from the cricket corps read.

“Indian wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant was involved in a car accident early Friday morning near Roorkee, Uttarakhand. “BCCI is in constant contact with Rishabh’s family while the medical team is in close contact with the doctors who are currently treating Rishabh. The council will ensure that Rishabh receives the best possible medical care and receives all the support he needs. needs to get out of this traumatic phase,” the statement added.

Pant, who was driving to his hometown of Roorkee to surprise his mother, dozed off while driving, leading to the crash. He had to smash the car’s windshield to escape after the vehicle caught fire. The driver and other staff of a passing Haryana Roadways bus helped the cricketer out of the burning Mercedes Benz, Haridwar Police Chief Superintendent Ajai Singh said. The car was completely charred and reduced to a mangled heap. Pant, who was alone in the car, dozed off and the car hit the bulkhead before bursting into flames, he said.

Uttarakhand Chief Police Officer Ashok Kumar confirmed the cricketer was alone in the car at the time of the accident and broke the windshield to escape the vehicle after he took fire.
