The Best Foods to Try for Glowing Skin – arcenciel

adminMarch 14, 2023

Everyone wants a youthful, glowing complexion. For some, healthy skin means radiant-looking skin without any breakouts, and for others, it’s all about texture. A healthy and radiant complexion does not exclude the presence of pores, wrinkles or imperfections. You can have radiant and healthy skin with these features. A healthy and glowing complexion means well hydrated, smooth and even skin without any inflammation. To get that healthy skin, you don’t have to go to a spa for expensive treatments or try expensive skincare. All you have to do is change your diet a bit. A healthy and balanced diet affects not only your health but also your skin. Here we have compiled some of the best foods for glowing skin.

Turmeric

Turmeric is also known as a “golden spice” and without it, every Indian cuisine is incomplete. Turmeric is packed with antioxidant properties that fight free radical damage in the body. It reduces inflammation and has antibacterial and blood-purifying properties, which give you youthful, glowing skin by preventing acne and blemishes. Turmeric can be used in a variety of curries and vegetables.

Tomatoes

Tomatoes are packed with vitamin C, carotenoids, and vitamin K. But what makes tomatoes stand out is that they’re packed with lycopene, an antioxidant known for its anti-aging properties. In addition, it protects the skin against damage caused by harmful UV rays. Since tomatoes are rich in vitamin A, it is best to pair them with healthy fats such as nuts and seeds or extra virgin olive oil to increase their absorption. You can also rub a slice of tomato on your face as this will help tighten the pores.

Beet

If you want a tinted red glow on your face, beets should be in your pantry. This red-colored food is packed with vitamins A, B, and C, as well as iron, potassium, niacin, and nitrates. It prevents hyperpigmentation of the skin and also prevents inflammation with its antioxidant properties. In addition to minimizing the appearance of wrinkles and blemishes, it also reduces the appearance of dark spots. You can include beets in your salad bowl or juice them.

Dark chocolate

If you’re looking for more reasons to eat chocolate, here’s another one. Dark chocolate with more than 70% cocoa or cocoa is rich in antioxidants that protect our skin from sun damage. It helps the skin to become more supple and elastic. However, one should check the ingredient behind the package to verify the sugar content and only opt for cocoa or chocolates with 70% or more cocoa content.

Spinach

We can’t thank this superfood enough for all its health benefits. Spinach is rich in vitamins A, C and K, which give your skin a youthful appearance. It also contains lutein and zeaxanthin, which boost the skin’s natural defenses against harmful UV rays.

citrus fruits

When life gives you lemons, make lemonade, and this lemonade is great for healthy skin. Citrus fruits such as oranges, lemons, and limes are the best sources of vitamin C, which helps boost collagen synergy in the body. Collagen helps keep our skin firm and plump. You can eat them whole or incorporate them as a juice.

Green tea

Green tea is like a first love for all fitness enthusiasts. It contains the phytonutrient epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), which protects your skin from oxidative damage and thus helps prevent premature aging and the appearance of wrinkles. It also helps improve skin hydration and elasticity.

Nuts

Nuts are one of the healthiest foods for glowing skin. Almonds and cashews are beneficial for maintaining youthful skin. They are rich in omega-3 fatty acids and proteins, which improve the texture of our skin. Walnuts are known to reduce skin lesions which makes our skin glow. Just top a few nuts with oatmeal to make a great breakfast bowl for youthful-looking skin.

Soy

Soy products, such as soy and tofu, contain isoflavonoids that mimic or block the hormone estrogen in the body. It has several benefits that also include our skin. It improves skin elasticity in women after menopause. It also reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by stimulating collagen synthesis in the body.

Leafy greens

Leafy greens like kale, broccoli, and parsley are packed with benefits not only for your overall health, but also for your skin. Leafy greens are rich in vitamins A, C, and K, as well as antioxidants and other essential nutrients that protect our skin from oxidative stress. They also protect our skin from sunburn. You can easily include them in a salad bowl or make delicious sabji.

The road to healthy, youthful skin is through your stomach, so if your diet isn’t healthy and full of processed foods, your skin will most likely suffer. Include the foods mentioned above in your diet for glowing skin. Also, stay hydrated, as water will keep your skin hydrated and help flush out toxins. Apart from this, make sure to wash your face before going to bed to reduce the chances of acne breakouts due to dirt and pollution.
