Adrian Yanez is set to take a big step up in competition when he takes on perennial bantamweight contender Rob Font at an upcoming UFC event on April 8, according to a recent report from MMA Fighting.
The match has also been confirmed by other media, but the location and venue remain undetermined at this time.
Yanez, 29, is 5-0 since making his Octagon debut just over two years ago. The talented striker has looked amazing every time he stepped into the cage and is coming off a masterful knockout performance against Tony Kelley last June. A clash with Font should give Yanez the chance to prove he’s in the top 10 and give him the win he needs to clinch the title in 2023.
Font, 35, is coming off back-to-back losses to Marlon Vera and Jose Aldo but remains one of the most seasoned veterans currently ranked in the top 10 at bantamweight. The perennial contender has only lost to the best in the world in his eight years under the UFC banner and could revitalize his divisional stock with a hype-busting victory over Yanez in April.
What do you guys think? Who takes this bantamweight clash between Yanez and Font?
